COURSE 1

2-Hour California Infection Control

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 2-hour Infection Control course reviews current California infection-control requirements and
the practical application of those requirements in the dental setting. The course focuses on
real-world infection-control practices including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment,
instrument processing and sterilization, surface disinfection, sharps safety, dental unit waterlines,
exposure prevention, single-use items, and common compliance mistakes seen in dental offices.
The goal is to help dental professionals understand both the regulatory requirements and how those
requirements translate into safe, consistent everyday clinical practice.

 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify key California infection-control requirements applicable to dental practice.
• Describe proper instrument processing, sterilization, packaging, and storage procedures.

2-Hour California Dental Practice Act

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 2-hour California Dental Practice Act course reviews laws and regulations that directly affect
dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other members of the California dental team. The
course focuses on practical issues encountered in everyday practice, including scope of practice,
supervision, licensing and renewal responsibilities, professional conduct, patient records,
documentation, continuing education requirements, unprofessional conduct, and other important
Dental Board regulations.
Real-world examples are used throughout the course to help participants understand how California
law applies to situations they may encounter in the dental office.
